The moment
A DOT number is the first public document in the life of a trucking company. It carries the fleet: power units, drivers, the cargo the operator ticked and whether operating authority has been granted.
Almost every new registration is one person and one truck. The ones that show up with four trucks or more buy a program: a fleet policy, a factoring line, ELDs by the seat, fuel cards, dispatch.
