The moment

Every licensed contractor carries a bond, and many carry a workers' comp policy on file with the license board. Each one has a date. When that date is 60 days out, somebody is going to write the renewal.

The Gauntlet tracks the whole license file and keeps only the bonds and comp policies that cancel or expire inside 60 days. Each one comes with the county, the license class and the officer on the license.

Who it's for

  • Surety bond agents
  • Commercial P&C brokers
  • Workers' comp carriers
  • Insurance wholesalers

What you get

  • Every bond and comp policy on file that runs out in the next 60 days
  • The date, and how many days are left on the clock
  • The license class, the county and the officer named on the license
  • A clean list, with the licenses that don't qualify already taken out

The outcome

Your producers call the contractor with 40 days left instead of the week after a competitor wrote it. The state will show anyone the same file. Your team is the one working it first.

Questions buyers ask

Does a cancel date mean the coverage is going away?
Most of these end in a renewal, and that's the point. The record shows a date, and that's all the machine claims. Somebody writes that renewal, and you'd like it to be you.
What's the difference between the bond and comp dates?
The bond date comes off the contractor's surety bond on file. The comp date is the expiration on the workers' comp policy the board has on record. You can work either list, or both.
